Interpersonal Process Group

2055565847Group Therapy promotes Change and Growth.

As a Certified Group Psychotherapist, I have done more than a decade of group therapy training and led or co-led many interpersonal process groups in different settings. People CHANGE and GROW tremendously in a process group. TREMENDOUSLY.

If you are looking for (or already in) individual therapy for interpersonal relationship issues, you should also consider joining a process group. Your interpersonal patterns and dynamics will SHOW in the group through your interactions with others instead of just “being talked about” in your individual therapy sessions.

An interpersonal process group offers a safe environment to identify and explore feelings, practice new, healthier ways of relating to others, and experience corrective interpersonal experiences.

Your participation in an interpersonal process group is a strong method for extending self-awareness and working on associating with others, solving problems, responding to hurts, expressing ourselves, managing distress, etc.

The group is also a place to give and receive support and feedback; gain comfort with vulnerability; integrate our multiple identities; and explore the complex emotions in relationships with friends, family, romantic partners, work colleagues, etc.

It is a brave place to work on the problems that create frustration, isolation, fear, sadness, or anxiety in the real world. It may also help you to improve the way you treat yourself.

Becoming Self-Aware is Part of the Process.

As group members learn more about their thought patterns and behaviors, they begin to understand themselves better.

In an interpersonal process group, each member explores and processes their reactions and feelings in real time as they happen. This immediacy – this real-time processing – creates brain and behavioral change that begins to transfer to the rest of life.

You will become a lot more courageous, assertive, responsible, and congruent. You develop tolerance for conflicts, and most importantly, you know how to repair a relationship when needed.

Group Therapy can make a Difference.

If you want to gain confidence, become more self-aware, and learn to manage life, group therapy can accomplish this for you and much more.
