Group Therapy

2181646993Working in a Group provides a Different Dimension.

Being in an interpersonal process group is the most powerful, most effective, and most rewarding way to improve your interpersonal relationships outside the group.

Through participating in such a group weekly, other group members see, understand, and accept you, so you develop a sense of belonging to this community.

This group is your family. However, a process group is not a support group or social group. The group can sometimes be sociable or supportive, but we are here to do the work.

You increase your self-awareness from being in the group because you get to explore why you feel the way you do or why you say what you say in the group.

With cohesion and trust, you will hear precious interpersonal feedback you don’t get to hear in your life – your blind spot remains invisible to you because no one wants to risk saying that to you. Group members will tell you how they experience or perceive you and your impact on them so you understand yourself better relative to others.

Of course, when conflicts happen between group members, the group processes these conflicts together because no one is a bystander; everyone contributes to everything that happens in the group, and you become better equipped to own the part of your contribution to the group dynamic.

The group will challenge you when you are not holding yourself accountable for who you claim you want to become; however, we will handle these confrontations in a non-shaming way in the group. You will feel someone confronts you because they genuinely care enough about you, a gift that can be hard to obtain in real life.

Gain Insight by Working with Others.

Group therapy helps you identify personal and professional goals, relationship priorities, and internal motivations; it also increases self-awareness and confidence, and reduces fear.

With increased self-confidence, people can make better decisions for themselves, whether in their career or love life, leading to greater satisfaction and success.
