Where is your office?
My office address is 317 14th Street, Suite B, Del Mar, CA 92014.
If you don’t live nearby, I provide telehealth/video online sessions. Most clients do video online sessions with me, which works as effectively as in-person therapy.
What are your hours?
Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I don’t work on weekends.
How long are your sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes for individual therapy, 55 minutes for couples therapy, and 90 minutes for group therapy.
How much do you charge?
I charge $200 for individual therapy, $225 for couples or family therapy, and $65 for group therapy.
How often do we meet?
I provide either weekly or bi-weekly appointments. We start with weekly or bi-weekly appointments to feel the effect and impact of our treatment and build momentum.
How long do we need to be in therapy to see the improvement?
After 3-7 sessions, you should feel like you are progressing and things between you and your partner are changing and improving.
However, every couple is different. Sometimes, it takes a bit longer to see improvement, depending on how deep the damage is throughout your relationship history and the intensity and urgency of your current issues.
Do you take insurance?
I don’t take insurance, but I do take Lyra (EAP). I can provide monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How do I set up an appointment?
You can call, email, or message me through my website for a free 20-minute consultation. If we are a good fit for each other, I will offer you my availability and proceed with an intake session.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel a session, you must provide notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance. If you cancel anytime within 24 hours, I will charge you the full fee for the session unless we can successfully reschedule your session to a different day and time during that same week.
What age ranges do you work with?
Adults. I do individual, couples, group, and family therapy with parents and their adult children or extended family members. I do not work with children or adolescents.
Do you work with women, men, or couples?
I embrace diversity and honor intersectionality. I work with people from diverse, multi-ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, gender, and sexual identities.
Do your clients receive assignments between sessions?
Homework assignments come in different forms – sometimes, it’s a new behavior, action, or activity I would like you to try; sometimes, it’s about expressing yourself or responding to your partner differently. Still, it’s less frequently about giving you tons of handouts or worksheets.
What modalities do you use?
I use only evidence-based, empirically validated modalities in my private practice. For couples therapy, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). For individual therapy, I do Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy. For group therapy, my co-leader and I use an integrated psychodynamic and interpersonal therapeutic approach.
What's your professional training and experience?
Professionally, I hold two active licenses in California – I am a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working as a licensed therapist for 14 years, since 2011. I am also a Certified Group Psychotherapist.
I completed my doctoral degree at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), the APA Accredited Clinical Psychology program, and my master’s degree at the University of Southern California (USC).
What else must a client know to make the most out of working with you?
Before you come to the session, think about what you want to discuss or focus on in your therapy. After the session, practice what we discussed, even if you fail or encounter difficulties.
Catharsis/venting is a standard part of the process, but it can’t be the end goal of our treatment, so we need to identify your goals and work toward reaching them.
You look so young. Can you handle me or save my marriage?
Whatever you think my age is, plus 10 years would probably be my actual age. People assume things or make judgments based on my younger appearance, but I am not that young anymore!
